They are sending reinforcements to The White House to back up Zelensky’s claim that peace with Russia is impossible. (Zelensky does not want the war to end.) The Democrat media voices are yelling that Trump is out of his depth, has been rolled by Putin and will sacrifice all honor and decency by trying to achieve peace in Ukraine.

Trump is a master negotiator and media spinner. When the EU leaders announced they were coming, too, he immediately welcomed them with open arms, whether he felt it or not. He’s good at this. The Europeans will doubtless be buoying each other up against Trump’s moves, but if I had to wager on this, a deal will be done, or Trump will send them packing and withdraw all support from Ukraine. My guess? The deal will give Crimea. and Donbas (where everyone speaks Russian) to Putin. Zelensky may try to keep them, but maybe it would be easier at this point to get rid of him in a side deal and install a peacemaker to oversee the handover that even war-weary Ukrainians secretly desire if it means they can stop hemorrhaging young men.
The deal will include benefits for the USA. Probably both sides will cede mineral rights.
At the end of the day, the US has the cards. And a master poker player to throw them down. The war pigs on the Left? They can squeal.
